Adipurush movie review: ‘an epic disappointment’

Hello everyone, welcome to our page. Today, we are going to review “Aadipursh.”

After watching this movie, my faith in Bollywood has been shattered. It is such a terrible adaptation of the Ramayana story.

When I saw the trailer, I was afraid of the visual effects (VFX), but after watching the movie, I realized that nothing good is there in the film.

You would enjoy watching the Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayana tv serial a thousand times more than this.

Let’s start the review. From its dialogues, it is evident that the movie cannot decide whether to stick to proper ancient Hindi or modern Hindi. Prabhas’ dialogue delivery is also quite poor, and even Sunny Singh, who played Lakshman’s role, couldn’t impress with his dialogue delivery.

Somewhere along the line, the makers have turned this movie into a comedy by playing around with the dialogues, such as…

Now, let’s talk about the VFX. The recent trailers looked fine to me, which made me go watch the movie. But I was wrong. You can clearly see the flaws in the VFX, and to hide those, most of the scenes in the movie are set during nighttime, which doesn’t give it the authentic Ramayana feel.

The only thing I liked about this movie is its music. Sanchit Balhara has done a great job, and you can enjoy the music throughout the film.

Now, let’s discuss the cast. Right from the beginning, Prabhas didn’t seem like a good choice for the role of Lord Rama, and the movie proved it. Whenever we imagine Lord Rama, we remember the TV serial version, which was a thousand times better than Prabhas’ portrayal.

Talking about Ravana, he is portrayed as a typical Bollywood villain. Saif Ali Khan’s acting is good, but the VFX and his looks let his role down.

Sunny Singh, who played Lakshman, appeared quite sluggish in his role. Lakshman was supposed to be aggressive and a little hot-headed, which was missing in this portrayal and he failed to represent that.

Kirti Sanon did a brilliant job in the role of Mata Sita. Her acting keeps the movie alive.

If we talk about the Ramayana, even today, the old Ramayana TV series is much better than this movie. Even though it doesn’t have the technology of today, the dialogue delivery and the portrayal of Lord Rama, Mata Sita, and Hanuman make it the best Ramayana show.

For “Aadipursh,” I would say that if you are free, wanna spend some time and don’t mind spending 500-1000 rupees, you can watch this movie. Otherwise, I wouldn’t recommend going to the theater to watch it.
