After God of War Ragnarok, Kratos headed for live-action adaption on Amazon Prime Video

A live-action adaptation of the beloved PlayStation character God of War Ragnarok has been released on Amazon Prime Video thanks to the phenomenal success of God of War Ragnarok. Sony Pictures Television, Amazon Studios, and PlayStation Productions will co-produce the series, which appears to be based on the recently completed Norse Saga.

Rafe Judkins from The Wheel of Time is the executive producer and showrunner of the live-action television series. Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby, who wrote Iron Man and Children of Men, will be the show’s writers and executive producers. Cory Barlog, Studio Creative Director at Santa Monica Studios, will also serve as an executive producer.

“The television show centers on Kratos, the God of War, who puts up his weapons for righteousness in the Norse realm of Midgard after fleeing his bloody past in ancient Greece. When his beloved wife passes away, Kratos embarks on a perilous journey with their estranged son to fulfill his wife’s dying wish: to scatter her ashes on the highest mountain.”

The recent Uncharted movie starring Tom Holland and the burgeoning Gran Turismo seems to mark the mainstream cinematic debut of a PlayStation franchise. God of War Ragnarok has been awarded gross,6 awards from the recently concluded TGA 2022. This series should delight us. If you want to play the game, you can do so now on PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5.

Fergus and Ostby also received Oscar nominations for their scripts for Children of Men and Iron Man, Marvel Studios’ first two box office hits.
